Description

Job Title: Family Preservation Social Worker
Location: Hybrid / Remote – Jackson
Service Area: Jackson, Branch and Hillsdale counties
Reports To: Family Services Families First Supervisor – Jackson
Position Type: Full-Time | Salary

Wellspring is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Family Preservation Social Worker to join our Families First Program in Jackson. In this role, you will work directly with families in their homes and communities to strengthen family stability and prevent out-of-home placement.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Families First model of service using a strength-based, non-deficit approach
  • Provide concrete services including assistance with housing, transportation, home cleaning, maintenance and repair
  • Deliver skills training in parenting, communication, self-advocacy and self-sufficiency
  • Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention as needed
  • Coordinate services with community providers including counseling, medical care, education, housing and utilities
  • Complete timely documentation including service plans, progress notes, termination summaries, goal sheets and weekly reports
  • Present cases at termination conferences and recommend appropriate follow-up services
  • Maintain face-to-face contact with families based on contract requirements and family need
  • Maintain weekly communication with referring workers and complete 3- and 6-month follow-up evaluations
  • Transport clients in your personal vehicle as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human services field required
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and auto insurance required
  • Experience working with children and families preferred
  • Reliable, compassionate and committed to high-quality service delivery
  • Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills

Schedule and Compensation

  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Schedule: Flexible with 24-hour availability as needed
  • Hybrid-Remote: Home-based with travel throughout the service area
  • In-Office Requirements: Weekly team meetings, trainings and clinical supervision
  • Pay Rate: $43,000 annually, based on experience
  • Travel: Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel
