The Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools (WRPS) District is currently accepting applications from candidates for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Social Worker position.
Under the direction of the Building Principal(s) and the Director of Pupil Services, the School Social Worker provides direct and indirect social work services to partner with families and support students to ensure they have all they need to be successful socially, emotionally, and academically by facilitating communication among school, home, and community resources.
Current Wisconsin DPI teaching certification is required (#7050), with proper grade level endorsement.

Job Responsibilities May Include:
- Act as a liaison between the home, school, and community providers to access, mobilize, and coordinate services.
- Support students in developing their social emotional learning skills.
- Provide short-term individual and group intervention to students who are experiencing social/emotional/behavioral challenges that interfere with learning.
- Provide resources for students and families to meet their basic needs, as well as support existing district and school basic needs programming.
- Support student mental health and refer to community agencies as appropriate.
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
- Assist school staff in developing and implementing interventions to help students be successful in the school environment.
- Collaborate with special education staff through the IEP process in a variety of capacities.
- Engage with and support students and families to overcome barriers related to attendance.
- Collaborate with outside agencies to connect students/families with outside resources (county, community, etc.) as appropriate.
- Advocate on behalf of students and families to ensure their needs are met.
- Understand the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act as it relates to homeless students and provide services to these students and families as needed.
- Work closely with grade-level, student services, and leadership teams in using data to plan interventions, programming, and advancing district priorities.
- Continually analyze policies and practices to ensure they are supportive, inclusive, and equitable for all students.
