Short Description

Conducts a psycho-social assessment of newly diagnosed cancer patients to identify needs and develop an appropriate social service plan for each client and their family.

Answer consults in a timely manner.

Assists with the non-medical aspect of their care (transportation, financial, insurance, disability, prescriptions, resources, referrals, paperwork).

Experience Required

• Minimum 3 years full-time medical social work experience.
• Preferably with oncology caseload.
• Experience facilitating support groups and program development.
• Knowledge of oncology referral services.

Education Requirements

• Requires a Master Degree in Social Work (MSW) or comparable degree accepted for grandfather clause in NJ licensure legislation.

License/Certification Requirements

• Current NJ SW License - (NEW JERSEY SOCIAL WORKER), LSW.
