Social Worker (MSW)

Location: Torrance, CA 90503
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: $55 – $58/hr
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday coverage

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments.

• Develop and coordinate safe discharge plans.

• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams.

• Connect patients and families with community resources and post-acute services.

• Assist with referrals to healthcare and social service programs.

• Advocate for patient needs and continuity of care.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care planning.

• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.

• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital social work experience required.

• California MSW/LCSW preferred.

• Pending California license may be considered if applicable.

• Strong psychosocial assessment and discharge planning skills.

• Crisis intervention and care coordination experience.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Must be available for every other weekend and holiday coverage.

• First-time travelers are not accepted.

• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
