Position Summary
Solstice Behavioral Health & Consulting is seeking compassionate and motivated School Social Workers to join our growing team. The School Social Worker will provide direct and indirect social-emotional support services to students, collaborate with educators and families, and contribute to the development of positive learning environments that support student success.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students.
- Conduct social, developmental, and behavioral assessments as needed.
- Support students in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, social skills, and conflict resolution strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community agencies to address student needs.
- Participate in PPT/IEP meetings and provide recommendations regarding social-emotional supports and services.
- Develop intervention plans and monitor student progress.
- Assist in crisis intervention and risk assessment when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state, federal, and organizational requirements.
- Consult with multidisciplinary team members, including clinicians, behavior specialists, and educational staff.
- Promote positive school climate and student well-being.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
- Connecticut Social Work License (LMSW or LCSW) preferred or eligible.
- School Social Worker Certification (Connecticut 071 endorsement) preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children and adolescents.
- Strong knowledge of child development, social-emotional learning, and behavioral health interventions.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in school, therapeutic, or behavioral health settings.
- Knowledge of special education processes and IEP development.
- Experience supporting students with emotional, behavioral, developmental, and learning needs.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.
