DescriptionJob SummaryThe Software Asset Management Analyst is responsible for managing, optimizing, and ensuring compliance of the organization’s software assets throughout their lifecycle. This role partners closely with IT, procurement, finance, and legal teams to reduce risk, control costs, and maximize the value of software investments.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the full software asset lifecycle, including request, deployment, maintenance, renewal, and retirementMaintain accurate software inventory and license entitlement recordsMonitor and ensure compliance with software license agreements and vendor contractsConduct internal license audits and support external vendor auditsIdentify opportunities for cost savings through optimization, rationalization, and reuse of licensesTrack software usage and analyze consumption trendsSupport contract renewals and negotiations with data-driven recommendationsCollaborate with IT teams on software packaging, deployment, and removalProvide regular reporting and dashboards on compliance, risk, and spendStay current on licensing models and vendor terms (e.g., SaaS, subscription, cloud, on-prem)Qualifications2+ years of experience in software asset management, IT asset management,procurement, or licensingStrong understanding of software licensing models and compliance requirementsExperience working with SAM or ITAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, Ivanti)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail with the ability to manage complex datasetsEffective written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Attributes:SAM certifications (e.g., ITIL, IAITAM CSAM, Flexera certifications)Experience supporting enterprise-level vendor audits (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe)Knowledge of cloud and SaaS licensing modelsExperience working cross-functionally with procurement, finance, and legal teamsKey CompetenciesLicense compliance and risk managementData analysis and reportingProcess improvement and documentationVendor and stakeholder managementNegotiation support and cost optimizationWorking ConditionsHybrid or remote work environment (role-dependent)Occasional support during audits or renewal cycles
