You will work with our defense and security teams on some of their toughest issues, in a fast-paced, non-hierarchical, and caring environment.

You will be part of our global data engineering community and work in cross-functional Agile project teams alongside data scientists, machine learning engineers, other data engineers, project managers, and industry experts to innovate alongside clients and CSTs to develop and deploy new or existing assets in the client environment.

By leveraging engineering frameworks and best practices, you will help lead design and development of core data frameworks to drive meaningful mission outcomes for our clients by enabling software capabilities used by data engineers, data scientists, consulting teams and external clients. You will help to shift our model toward asset-based consulting and build a foundation for the expansion of our investment into our entrepreneurial culture.

You will drive the delivery of McKinsey software assets for clients, configuring to client needs using technical skills in data science, data engineering, and/or software implementation, working directly with clients and client service teams.

Our U.S. Social Sector, Healthcare, and Public Sector Entities (SHaPE) practice delivers high-impact services to clients across three major sectors, including federal, state, and local governments. Within SHaPE, the Defense and Security subsector focuses on the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), including the Office of the Secretary of Defense, major defense agencies, and military services, as well as members of the National Security Community.

• Bachelor or master's degree
• Active TS/SCI clearance (or SCI-eligibility), ideally with past or current DoD SAP/SAR access.
• 5+ years of work experience in Software implementation or project management, preferably technical
• Deep understanding of analytics/technology/data as relevant to Defense & Security
• Highly credible knowledge of the Defense & Security industry
• Ability to draw insights and lead problem solving with peers
• Strong project management capabilities
• Excellent problem-solving skills: ability to quickly process complex information
• Evolving entrepreneurial capabilities
• Conversant in related technical languages and tools, e.g., JavaScript, HTML/CSS, SQL, Python, Java, Tableau
