Benefits eXperience Technology (BXT) is responsible for the development and operations of worldwide benefits administration for Amazon. This includes the technology for employees to enroll in and manage their benefits, determine eligibility, synchronize with 3rd party providers, and all the employee support and back office operations to fulfill, audit, and report on the efficacy of those operations. BXT"s north star vision is to launch a commercial Benefits-as-a-Service offering built around A-to-Z Benefits.

Our team, Solutions Tools and Administration (STA), supports and enables this vision by owning the complete benefits administration technical lifecycle and enabling BXT"s scalability to multi-tenancy. Our multi-functional team of Software Development Engineers, Support Engineers, and Quality Assurance Engineers is responsible for implementing and managing the flywheel connecting all parts of the benefits administration lifecycle: Requirements gathering Setup and Configuration Quality assurance Production Support Continuous improvement.

We are building next-generation automation solutions for each component of the flywheel, including end-to-end testing automation frameworks, reconciliation tools, and management portals. The solutions we build enable us to support country expansions, onboard new vendors, add and change benefits, and test the employee experience at scale. Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer II on the Solutions Tools and Administration team, you will:

  • Take ownership of the software design, documentation, development, engineering approach, delivery, and support of new Benefits support architecture components built natively in AWS.
  • Actively lead the design, technology selection, and implementation of automation solutions including end-to-end testing frameworks, reconciliation tools, and management portals.
  • Build and maintain large-scale distributed systems that support the complete benefits administration lifecycle, working with technologies including real-time systems, big data, and orchestration software.
  • Collaborate daily with engineers, product stakeholders, and managers to solve complex technical problems, design creative algorithms, and deliver high-quality solutions that enable country expansions and vendor onboarding.
  • Contribute to raising the engineering bar through code reviews, technical discussions, and sharing best practices across the team.
