What happens when you combine startup speed with Amazon-scale impact? You get this team. Amazon Enterprise Security Products is a newly launched group building intelligent, cloud-agnostic security tools using AI-first development practices. Here, you build AI and you build with AI - at the same time. This is not a traditional SDE role. It"s a chance to shape the future of security tooling with a small, fast team that ships like a startup and deploys like Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship AI-powered security products: Own the full lifecycle from architecture through production deployment of large-scale, multi-tiered distributed systems that protect AWS Customers. Leverage agentic AI development practices to accelerate every phase.
  • Engineer end-to-end, full-stack experiences: Build across the entire stack with intuitive front-end interfaces, robust back-end services and REST APIs, and intelligent middleware. Deploy on AWS while designing for cloud-agnostic, multi-cloud environments so customers are protected wherever they operate.
  • What you build: Design and implement the intelligent systems customers interact with - agentic architectures, conversational interfaces, and automation workflows that make AI-first security real at scale.
  • How you build: Use AI tools and techniques (established and experimental) to write, test, review, and ship code faster. Multiplying your own velocity, quality, and creative output across greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Plan, estimate, and drive delivery: Lead implementation planning, effort estimation, and phased rollouts across systems and operations; you own outcomes with the autonomy and accountability expected in a high-trust startup environment.
  • Prototype rapidly and innovate relentlessly: Validate hypotheses with customers, iterate quickly, and bring a builder"s mindset every day. The best idea wins here regardless of where it comes from.
  • Partner across disciplines: Work directly with security researchers, applied scientists, product managers, and UX designers to shape product direction and turn customer needs into technical solutions. Small team means short lines between you and the decision.
  • Own operational excellence: Participate in on-call rotations, drive root-cause analysis, and continuously raise the bar on reliability, performance, and security of the systems you build. You ship it, you run it..
  • Elevate the team - and yourself: Contribute to technical reviews, mentor teammates, and champion AI-first development practices. You"ll build the engineering culture of a fast-growing team from the ground floor, and in the process become the kind of engineer who has shaped a product, scaled an organization, and defined how modern security software gets built.

A day in the life

No two days look the same on this fast growing, AI first development team. You might start your morning reviewing output from overnight agentic coding sessions, then dive into building a RAG pipeline or designing APIs that connect intelligent interfaces to real time threat data across multiple clouds. After lunch, you join a design session with senior and principal engineers where your ideas carry weight regardless of title. You own features end to end, ship using the latest AI assisted development workflows, and see your work reach production fast. This is where builders thrive.

About the team

Amazon Enterprise Security Products is built by builders who tackle challenges others might consider too ambitious. We"re a small team where there are no layers between you and the decision, no waiting quarters to see your work reach customers. Every team member brings an owner"s mentality. This is where builders who want to make the impossible routine come to do their best work.

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
