--- Project Description ---
Department of Labor's Website Redesign project.
--- Day-to-Day Tasks ---
1. Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and document required use
cases.
2. Develop accessible user-interface screens, reusable components, and
application frameworks using Angular and Java technologies, with
emphasis on ADA compliance.
3. Develop and maintain REST and SOAP web services and integrate
application components into end-to-end business processes.
4. Develop complex SQL and data-access components for DB2 and other
relational databases, including object-relational mapping frameworks.
5. Perform unit, integration, regression, and performance testing; identify
and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks.
6. Use GitHub or GitLab repositories and CI/CD pipelines to support
controlled software builds, testing, and deployments.
7. Deploy, support, and maintain applications hosted on Google Cloud
Platform (GCP) or other enterprise cloud platforms, including
configuring Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and managing cloud
storage.
8. Configure and secure web servers (such as Apache or Nginx) to
manage URL redirects/rewrites, and integrate third-party embedded
content using CORS, CSP, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
9. Create and maintain technical designs, sequence diagrams, activity
diagrams, system documentation, and operational support procedures.
10. Conduct code reviews and mentor State staff in modern application-
development practices.
--- Required Qualifications ---
• 60 months of experience developing Java-based, multi-tier web applications
using J2EE or Spring Boot, industry-standard design patterns, and agile
methodologies.
• 48 months of experience developing Angular user interfaces, reusable
components, and accessible web applications that meet ADA or WCAG
requirements.
• 48 months of experience developing and integrating REST or SOAP services,
backend business services, batch jobs, and application interfaces.
