Our customers use our platform to perform drug screenings on larger libraries, under more conditions, in a fraction of the time they are used to. Araceli currently has an opening for a talented and experienced Software Development Engineer in Test to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. The primary focus will be on building software testing strategies and frameworks that control our image analysis software. The Software Development Engineer in Test will be responsible for executing test plans, identifying defects, and ensuring the overall quality of our applications. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of software testing methodologies. This position is best suited to a hybrid role at our Tigard, Oregon headquarters. Some flexibility may exist for limited remote work depending on the circumstances.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, hardware engineers, data scientists, biologists, and product marketing to understand project requirements and software functionalities.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on software requirements and user stories. (Test scripts and validation plans)
  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate software functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Contribute to test automation efforts by developing and maintaining automated test scripts using relevant tools and frameworks.
  • Execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to verify software functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Conduct various types of testing including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Document test results, defects, and other relevant information in a clear and organized manner.
  • Work closely with software developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify, prioritize, and document defects using issue tracking systems such as JIRA or similar tools.
  • Perform thorough root cause analysis of defects and communicate findings effectively with development teams.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3-years minimum experience in software testing, preferably in a biotech or life sciences environment.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Robot Framework, PyTest).
  • Experience using AI based tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.
  • Familiarity with C++ and JavaScript.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience testing software that controls hardware instruments or devices.
  • Knowledge of image analysis techniques or computer vision.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).
  • Familiarity with test management systems (e.g., Jira, Qase, HPALM).
  • Experience with testing frameworks for web-based applications such as Playwright, Jest, WebDriverIO.

7405 SW Tech Center Dr. A160, Tigard, OR 97223. This is an on-site position.
