    Description Invent the future of conversational advertising powered by Large Language Models. Join the CAX (Conversational Ad Experiences) team, where you'll build industry-first sponsored conversational shopping experiences on Amazon Search-directly impacting how hundreds of millions of shoppers discover and engage with products. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of Generative AI and advertising at Amazon's scale. As a Software Development Engineer on the CAX team, you will drive major product and engineering initiatives that are both ambiguous and high-impact, building the systems that bring LLM-powered ad experiences to life in production. You'll partner directly with our science team to implement large language models, contribute to LLMOps, and build the ML infrastructure and data pipelines that power personalized conversational experiences. You'll ship GenAI to hundreds of millions of shoppers - Full-stack impact - From large-scale distributed systems to ML infrastructure to customer-facing UX on Amazon Search - Shape the roadmap - Ambiguous problem space means your ideas directly influence what gets built Key job responsibilities - Design and develop net-new conversational ad experiences on the Amazon Search page - Build large-scale, low-latency distributed systems and ML infrastructure to power LLM-driven ad experiences in production - Partner with the science team to implement and operationalize large language models (LLMOps) - Build and maintain data processing pipelines that support personalized, AI-driven advertising at scale - Pioneer new approaches to conversational AI and natural language interactions in advertising - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-driven solutions across the advertising ecosystem - Create scalable systems to deliver explicitly personalized ad experiences to hundreds of millions of shoppers - Drive end-to-end ownership of key customer-facing functionality-from design through deployment and operations What we're looking for: - Passionate about Generative AI, Large Language Models, and their real-world applications - Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building distributed systems - Creative problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity and loves tackling complex, undefined challenges - Track record of delivering innovative solutions that drive measurable business impact Enthusiasm for staying current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape About the team The Sponsored Products and Brands team at Amazon Ads is re-imagining the advertising landscape through industry-leading generative AI technologies, revolutionizing how millions of customers discover products and engage with brands across Amazon.com and beyond. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent - Experience developing, deploying and managing AI products at scale - Experience developing and deploying Gen AI applications Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
