AWS Training and Certification (T&C) is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join our engineering team. Our mission is to accelerate cloud adoption by helping millions of individuals and

organizations build and validate their AWS skills. The T&C platform powers digital training, classroom delivery, practice exams, and certification programs that serve learners across the globe - and you"ll be at the center of building the technology that makes it all possible.

In this role, you will design, develop, and operate distributed systems and services that directly impact the learner experience. You"ll own features end-to-end, working across the full stack to solve complex

technical problems at scale. Whether it"s improving content delivery, building new learning workflows, or enhancing exam platforms, your work will be customer-facing and high-impact from day one.

We"re looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and is passionate about building software that matters. You"ll join a collaborative team of engineers who value operational excellence, high-

quality code, and continuous learning. If you"re excited about working on systems that help people grow their careers and transform their organizations through cloud technology, we"d love to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure services and features
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Own operational excellence for your team"s services, including on-call responsibilities
  • Participate in system design, code reviews, and architectural discussions
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, performance issues, and technical debt
  • Contribute to team processes, mentoring, and engineering best practices
  • Work across the stack (front-end, back-end, infrastructure) as needed

A day in the life

We"re looking for a Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate services that support the AWS Training and Certification ecosystem. You"ll work across the full stack, owning features end-to-end -

from requirements through deployment and operations. You"ll collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and partner engineering teams to deliver solutions that delight learners worldwide.

About the team

The AWS Training and Certification (T&C) Engineering team builds and operates the platforms and services that power AWS"s global training and certification programs. We help millions of learners develop cloud

About the Company

A

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
