Description AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. This role leads a software team that owns the AWS Boost website and the builder tools that enable multiple development teams to build in AWS Boost and contribute to the website. You'll join a diverse team of software engineers and product managers. AWS Boost supports Data Center Operations globally define, plan, execute, monitor, and validate technician-facing work. We increase throughput by prioritizing high value work that maximizes capacity delivery while protecting security, safety, and availability through software auditable controls. Key job responsibilities As Manager on the AWS Boost team, you will own software solutions for building work readiness experience for data center work. You are expected to excel when faced with ambiguity. You have high judgement and understand which opportunities drive the most strategic value for the business. You will not be limited by the present and will constantly look ahead to the future. You enjoy working in a collaborative, analytical, and fast-paced environment and are comfortable interacting with highly technical cross-functional teams. You have excellent analytical capabilities, be comfortable diving deep into data, and have strong writing skills. You have a track record of understanding customer needs and delivering technology solutions to address those needs. This is a highly visible position that will interact at all levels of the AWS Infrastructure business. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience - 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent Preferred Qualifications - Experience partnering with product or program management teams - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
