Networks & Security Senior Test Engineer
Location: Mayfield, OH 44124
Duration: 12 months - possibility for extension
Pay Rate: $44.80/hr - W2

Our client is seeking someone who is comfortable working in highly dynamic collaborative environments globally across time zones.  A passion for testing and problem-solving is essential. Additionally, our client is looking for someone with experience across different software architectures, who can apply that knowledge effectively within networking and control systems applications.


About the Role:
You'll play a central part in reviewing the Robustness and Vulnerability reports, cross-collaborate with PSIRT teams from multiple locations and companies, verify the resolved vulnerability defects, research CVEs and draft vulnerability responses working with PSIRT teams, provide customer support for security issues on our Stratix products, design and implement test automation, as well as building system test environments that push Rockwell products to their limits. You'll collaborate on a comprehensive verification and validation program designed to strengthen product reliability with focus on security. Your efforts will be critical in ensuring that products are robust, free of defects, meet performance standards, and align with total quality management principles.


Responsibilites:

• Contribute to team planning and status meetings to clarify priorities, assignments, and expected deliverables

• Execute routine functional testing with off-the-shelf and proprietary security tools, using white-box/grey-box/black-box techniques, to Client new security vulnerabilities.
• Analyzes complex problems, records encountered issues, and documents findings for future resolutions
• Collaborate with developers to analyze and define discovered problems
• Experience with review of Achillies test reports, Pen test reports and Defensics reports in depth and to identify issues with the reports.
• Experience executing the Achillies and Defensics tests in networking environments
• Experience working with PSIRT teams, cross-collaboration with various company PSIRT teams, review of Security vulnerabilities.
• Experience creating the scenarios, verifying the fixed vulnerabilities in Stratix IOS and IOS-XE products or equivalent Cisco IE switches.
• Contributes to the development of automation strategies and frameworks
• Build and expand knowledge of testing methodologies and practices
• Continuously enhance expertise in functional test development processes
• Assess challenges and explore solutions by consulting subject matter experts, ensuring decisions are evidence-based throughout product development
• Apply testing tools and techniques to achieve comprehensive functional coverage
• Deliver informal technical presentations to small groups on specialized topics
• Stay informed on emerging networking technologies, industry trends, and IT/OT best practices
• Show curiosity toward new technologies and products that could enhance Rockwell's offerings, while consistently learning and refining skills
• Record and summarize testing results

Must Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with a focus on Computer Science
• At least 3 years of experience in Networking and Security Engineering.
• Solid understanding of computer networks and communication protocols
• Experience designing, implementing and troubleshooting network implementations
• Expert-level technical background in High-complexity Networking solutions and implementation strategies and understanding of IT and OT convergence
• Background in Test, specifically in testing of ethernet networks and test environment design for ethernet networks.
• Experience with network technologies including (STP, VLANs, DTP, VTP, IGMP, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP, Flex links, ACLs, DLR, PRP, HSR, MRP…)
• Experience with Security related concepts, protocols, fuzzing tools, Achillies testing, Defensics testing, Pen testing and detailed knowledge of PSIRT processes
• Experience with Cisco IE/Stratix networking switches and routers.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks
• Knowledge of industrial control systems
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills

Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Experience with Network management software, network diagnostics and utilities.
• Proficiency in programming methods and scripting languages, with strong skills in Python
• Knowledge and familiarity with AI tools in Security is a plus
• Experience in Software or Product Development a huge plus
• ISTQB Foundation Level certificate
