Software Engineer 3 – Senior Java Developer

Duration: 3-Month Contract
Work Schedule: Hybrid – 3 Days Remote / 2 Days Onsite (Monday & Tuesday Required Onsite)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer 3 / Senior Java Developer to support the SCOR BAU EI parallel initiative. This role will focus on enhancing and maintaining enterprise Java applications, including updates to business logic, user interfaces, reporting functionality, and system data models.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java/J2EE development, Spring-based REST services, relational databases, and enterprise application maintenance within multi-environment systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise Java applications and system enhancements
• Update business logic, user interfaces, and reporting functionality
• Extend and maintain application data models
• Develop and support RESTful web services using the Spring framework
• Perform coding, testing, peer reviews, and technical documentation
• Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot production issues
• Support defect remediation and maintenance activities across environments
• Maintain code coverage, testing standards, and security compliance requirements
• Collaborate with development and support teams throughout the SDLC
• Provide on-call support as needed
• Participate in application modernization and continuous improvement efforts

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) experience using Java
• 8+ years of J2EE application development experience
• 8+ years of SQL development experience with relational databases
• 8+ years of experience developing RESTful web services using Spring
• 8+ years of experience with Spring AOP concepts including:
  • Transaction management
  • Security implementation
• Experience with JUnit and unit test development
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills
• Experience working in enterprise multi-environment application support

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Angular UI Framework
• Experience with Crystal Reports
• Experience with Power BI
• Experience supporting enterprise reporting and analytics solutions
