We’re looking for a highly hands-on Senior Software Engineer with strong Java and/or Python development experience to support a major data center migration and AI engineering initiative. The team is looking for engineers who spend most of their time writing production code, not candidates with primarily theoretical or architectural experience.
What You'll Do

• Develop production-quality software using Java, Python, or both.

• Spend approximately 80% of your time hands-on coding.

• Analyze requirements and work directly with stakeholders to understand business needs.

• Design, develop, test, and implement scalable engineering solutions.

• Support the BMG migration initiative associated with data center exit.

• Contribute to AI use cases for fraud and detection, including strategy/rules-engine platforms.

• Leverage the client's internal AI capabilities to improve engineering productivity.

• Take technical ownership of medium-sized modules and guide other engineers working alongside you.

• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in occasional after-hours support when required.

• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver project milestones.

Must-Have Skills

• 8+ years of Software Engineering experience

• Strong hands-on Java development, preferably with a backend/full-stack focus

• Strong Python development experience

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

• Proven experience writing production code and delivering hands-on engineering solutions

• Strong problem-solving and technical ownership skills

Nice to Have

• Strong expertise in either Java or Python will also be considered.

• GCP or other cloud platform experience

• MongoDB

• Google, AWS, or other cloud certifications

• Experience with AI/ML engineering or AI-assisted development

• Experience with fraud detection, rules engines, or financial technology platforms

Pay Range: $65 - $75

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
