Founding AI Solutions Engineer
Location: South Bay, CA (Hybrid)
Salary: $170,000–$250,000 Base + Bonus (OTE $187,000–$288,000) + Equity
About the Role
A well-funded AI company building realtime voice and language models is hiring its first Solutions Engineer to sit at the intersection of sales, product and engineering. The company's models power voice and AI experiences for major consumer brands, and this hire will be the technical face of every deal from first call through to production.
You'll work directly with the CEO and GTM team, running technical discovery, building POCs, and shaping how customers actually use the product. There's no playbook here yet, you'll be writing it as you go.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery and own solution design on deals, from first call through close
- Build working prototypes and integrations using the company's voice and language model APIs in real customer environments
- Sit in on forecast calls and key account meetings, bringing technical depth into the sales process
- Work directly with R&D to turn customer feedback into product improvements
- Build the foundations of the SE function, including POC templates, playbooks and integration collateral for future hires
What We're Looking For
- 5–10 years in a customer facing technical role such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect, ideally pre-sales focused
- Hands-on with Python, comfortable writing production quality integration code
- Strong understanding of AI/ML APIs, including LLMs and speech models
- Startup background where you've had to operate with ambiguity and without a big support team behind you
- Based in or willing to relocate to the SF Bay Area, working on-site a few days a week
