State Farm (Bloomington, IL) seeks a Software Engineer experienced in Policy Center and Gosu coding who can lead, design, develop, and implement applications in addition to providing production support and assist in training. Specific duties include: utilize up-to-date coding, testing, security, DevOps, and software engineering practices to maintain and create new applications (including incorporation of cloud-based tooling design and development) that support business requirements; collect and analyze information to identify customer's technical needs, suggest solutions and develop implementation and integration plans (e.g., technical proposals); be responsible for the analysis, design, deployment, support, and security of technology to ensure the organization is efficiently managing its technology and data-related assets in accordance with market best-practices and external regulations; apply DevOps and Agile mindset where team is accountable for product from inception to sunset; apply User Experience practices to improve usability and interaction between the customer and product; and apply a wide application of complex principles, theories, and concepts in computer science for software engineering solutions. Must be certified as a Guidewire Specialist. Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. with required quarterly travel to Bloomington, IL headquarters.
Qualifications:
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field of study, plus 8 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Software Developer, Lead Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, or similar position. Must have 8 years of experience working with Guidewire PolicyCenter Integration and Configuration, including rules, Messaging Framework (including use of Kafka, GX Model, and Integration Views), Batch Process and Workflows, and PCF. Must also have 5 years of experience working with Property Casualty Auto Knowledge. Specific experience must also include working with each of the following: Oracle, DB2, Postgres; XML, Json; Soap/Rest Web Services, Postman; Containers Kubernetes, Docker; Mule, ServiceNow, Dynatracel Easymock, Mockito; GitLab and GitHub CoPilot; Splunk, Notepad++; Agility/Version One; and Agile/Product Management organizational methodology. Must be certified as a Guidewire Specialist. Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. with required quarterly travel to Bloomington, IL headquarters. Salary: $138,251/yr.
