Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description

This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining robust embedded C software within a structured development environment. You will work with existing systems, contribute to system integration, and support debugging across multiple components to ensure reliable, high-quality embedded solutions from concept through completion.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software using C for embedded systems.
  • Operate within a structured software development lifecycle (SDLC) from concept to completion, following defined processes and standards.
  • Analyze, understand, and enhance legacy codebases, taking ownership of existing code and modules.
  • Integrate software components across systems and vendors to ensure seamless functionality and interoperability.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues across components and subsystems, identifying root causes and implementing effective fixes.
  • Apply static code analysis tools and techniques to improve code quality, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration activities and resolve integration-related issues.
  • Incorporate basic networking and cybersecurity considerations into design, implementation, and integration activities.

Essential Skills

  • Strong proficiency in embedded C programming for embedded systems.
  • Experience operating within a structured software development environment and following the full SDLC from concept to completion.
  • Hands-on experience working with legacy code and taking ownership of existing codebases.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform systems integration across multiple components and vendors.
  • Experience using static code analysis tools and applying a strong code quality mindset.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts relevant to embedded systems.
  • Basic awareness of cybersecurity principles and their application in embedded software.

  • Experience with codebase ownership, including refactoring, optimization, and long-term maintenance.
  • Strong integration mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with external vendors and internal teams.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $44.00/hr.
