Davidson will be supporting the Air Force's development, production, sustainment and deployment of software systems for the Sentinel Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.Job ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes customer requirements, concept of operations, system architectures, and technical specifications to define and develop software solutions that meet mission and system objectives.Leads the design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of complex software applications and embedded software systems.Translates system-level and software requirements into software architecture, detailed designs, technical solutions, and implementable work products.Evaluates alternative software approaches, technologies, and design solutions to address technical challenges, performance requirements, and mission needs.Provides technical leadership for software development activities, including architecture, design, coding, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment.Develops and maintains software technical documentation, including software architecture, design descriptions, interface specifications, test documentation, and other engineering artifacts.Collaborates with Systems Engineers, Software Architects, Product Owners, and other technical stakeholders to resolve software-related technical issues, risks, dependencies, and design conflicts.Supports software integration and verification activities, including development of test strategies, automated tests, defect resolution, and system-level integration.Contributes to the implementation and continuous improvement of Agile and DevSecOps development practices, including continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), automated testing, and software configuration management.Ensures software solutions meet applicable quality, cybersecurity, safety, performance, and customer requirements.Provides technical mentorship and guidance to software engineers and contributes to the development of software engineering processes, standards, and best practices.Holds technical accountability for the quality, integrity, and successful execution of software engineering deliverables within the assigned area of responsibility.Basic QualificationsStrong, hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, software architecture and design, implementation, integration, testing, debugging, and deployment.Demonstrated experience developing software using one or more object-oriented programming languages, such as C++, Java, or Python.Demontstrated experience developing and integrating software for complex, mission-critical, embedded, or distributed systems.Experience with software architecture and design principles, including object-oriented design, software interfaces, modularity, and system integration.Solid understanding of Agile software development methodologies, including Scrum and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).Experience with software development tools and environments, including version control, issue tracking, automated testing, and build/deployment tools.Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) and/or DevSecOps development environments.Experience developing and maintaining technical software documentation and engineering artifacts.Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues and work collaboratively with systems, hardware, test, cybersecurity, and other engineering disciplines.Minimum of Ten (10) years of relevant software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Four (4) years of additional relevant software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.Preferred QualificationsExperience developing safety-critical, mission-critical, or high-reliability software, including familiarity with applicable standards such as DO-178C, DO-330, or related development and verification standards.Experience developing software for DoD, aerospace, defense, or other complex system-of-systems environments.Familiarity with DoD software cybersecurity requirements, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Secure Software Development Framework (SSDF) principles.Experience with software development and collaboration tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools.Experience with embedded software, real-time systems, distributed systems, or hardware/software integration.Experience with software performance analysis, debugging, automated testing, and defect resolution.Prior experience supporting strategic missile, weapons, aerospace, or other mission-critical systems.Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Clearance Requirements:Active DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level or above.
