Software Engineer

Overview:

BigBear.ai is seeking a Software Engineer for a fast-paced, mission-focused team. You will design, develop, and integrate solutions enabling a high-priority operations customer. Working closely with Analysts, Operators, and other Software Engineers, you will integrate AI/ML technologies and develop rapid prototypes supporting the mission.

What you will do:

• Elicit requirements from stakeholders and determine the applicability of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions
• Develop automated analysis and triage across various collection techniques
• Integrate capabilities into existing platforms and SDKs
• Build scripts and user interfaces to convert and normalize data
• Automate tasking and collection by extending the existing platform with new tools or technologies

What you need to have:

• 3+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline + 2+ years of experience
• Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly
• Production-grade software development experience in Python or JavaScript
• Experience with machine learning and AI tooling platforms
• Service containerization and deployment with Docker/Kubernetes
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience deploying and managing production services in fast-paced environments
• Familiarity with Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence)

What we'd like you to have:

• Experience developing with agentic AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Codex)
• Experience with additional programming languages (Java, C)
• Experience prototyping web applications with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue)
• Ability to analyze cybersecurity-related datasets (Network Traffic, OS events)
• Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems
• Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations
