Senior C++ / Linux Software EngineerWe are seeking an experienced C++ / Linux Software Engineer to develop secure, performance-sensitive systems software supporting data-at-rest and full-disk encryption solutions.
This is a systems-level software engineering role with a strong emphasis on Linux and modern C++. The engineer will work across software, operating systems, and lower-level hardware/firmware integrations; however, this is not a firmware- or driver-specialist position.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and optimize secure, high-performance software using C and C++.
Build system-level Linux software, including components supporting encryption and data-at-rest security.
Develop primarily within Linux environments, with some Windows and cross-platform development.
Troubleshoot and debug complex system-level software and product issues.
Analyze performance, reliability, and system behavior to identify and resolve technical issues.
Prototype new capabilities and transition successful concepts into reliable, production-ready software.
Work with lower-level system components and integrations involving software, firmware, and hardware.
Develop tools and processes to improve testing, debugging, failure analysis, and product reliability.
Support automated testing, continuous integration, and engineering workflows.
Collaborate with other engineers throughout design, development, testing, and release cycles.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of professional C/C++ software development experience.
Strong professional experience developing software in Linux environments.
Experience with system-level programming, debugging, testing, and performance optimization.
Demonstrated experience building reliable, performance-sensitive software products.
Strong understanding of software development fundamentals, troubleshooting, and complex problem solving.
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative product engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing security, encryption, storage, endpoint, or data-protection software.
Experience with Windows programming and cross-platform development.
Additional experience with C#.
Experience with Python or similar scripting languages for automation, testing, or internal tooling.
Exposure to firmware, hardware integration, device-level software, or Windows drivers.
Experience with CI/CD and automated software testing.
Ideal BackgroundThe strongest candidate will be a Linux-focused C++ software engineer who has spent their career building complex, performance-sensitive software close to the operating-system level.
Experience interacting with firmware, hardware, storage, or drivers is valuable, but candidates do not need to be deeply specialized firmware or driver engineers. The primary focus is strong Linux + C/C++ systems software development.
