JOB TITLE: Software Engineer

PAY RATE: $50-60/hour

Summary: 

• Designs and implements data acquisition and control systems (DACS) for aerospace hardware test stands and test facilities.

• Develops software for data collection and control in various test environments.

• Integrates test instruments into control systems including power analyzers, power supplies, pressure scanners, temperature scanners, flow meters, pressure transmitters, and actuators.

• Programs PLCs with emphasis on Allen-Bradley and Beckhoff PLCs.

• Develops software with LabVIEW or equivalent programming environments.

• Designs and implements networking solutions for real-time data sharing and communication between multiple controllers.

• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

• Develops and executes test plans to validate system functionality and compliance with requirements.

• Troubleshoots and resolves software or hardware issues during development and deployment.

• Reverse-engineers existing software on legacy systems to rebuild solutions using current-generation software and hardware.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development with a focus on data acquisition and test or process control systems.

• Experience in PLC programming with emphasis on Allen-Bradley and Beckhoff PLCs.

• Strong programming skills in LabVIEW or equivalent.

• Experience integrating test instruments into control systems such as power analyzers, power supplies, pressure scanners, temperature scanners, flow meters, pressure transmitters, and actuators.

• Understanding of networking concepts and experience in data sharing protocols for multiple real-time controllers.

• Ability to prototype and run tests including experimental setup, hardware configuration, and software implementation.

• Preferred: Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python, or LabWindows/CVI.

• Preferred: Familiarity with NI SystemLink, TestStand, or VeriStand, version control tools (Bitbucket, Git, SVN), and requirements tracking systems.
