Required education: Bachelor Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, Data Processing, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics or equivalent experience in the applicable domain.
Must have minimum of 3 years software, systems, and/or test engineering experience (2 with MS degree). Previous ICBM experience is preferred.
This job requires skills in test plan development, requirements analysis, system testing, scheduling, technical writing and analysis, and identifying and troubleshooting of discrepancies. Knowledge of computer software architecture and design practices and experience with embedded software will be required.
Candidate must possess exceptional oral/written communications skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently or as a member of a group effort and will be able to work well in government and diverse contractor teams.
Successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a TS clearance for performance of job duties.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience with embedded weapon systems, particularly MMIII ICBM weapon system software programs particularly software updates/sustainment activities. Experience with software development for DOD applications. This includes the detailed analysis and testing of software to verify that program and safety requirements are correctly implemented. Experience reviewing or coding in FORTRAN, C, and/or ADA and translating hard coded changes and hardware presentations into simulations. Demonstrated capability to capture impacts of operational system changes on simulated training environments. Experience with and knowledge of NSCCA/PATE processes. Previously provided level of effort and scheduling estimates. Demonstrated experience in software testing. Knowledge of MMIII software program interfaces and dependencies. Experience working proposal efforts and technical evaluations is also desirable.

Understanding of several areas of ICBM system software programs and sustainment efforts.
Responsibilities include:
1. Supports government counterpart(s) to provide software and systems engineering expertise to sustainment and acquisition programs as assigned.
2. Assists in the development and allocation of software requirements. May develop software requirements, evaluate the impact of requirements changes, lead others, and collaborate/support government customers in these tasks.
3. May develop/support software design and design documentation.
4. Reviews and prepares documentation for complex software designs in accordance with established software development processes and procedures. May run tests, evaluate results, debug defects, or lead others in these tasks. May participate in planning and conducting verification or validation activities.
5. Verifies complex software designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements. Participates in work product reviews, inspections, recurring meetings, major milestone events, and software testing.
6. Estimates software level of effort and schedules by reviewing statements of work for new and revised projects.
7. May assist in preparation/review of proposals, presentations, risks, Technical Order (T.O.) changes, safety review briefings, program protection plans and government engineering board briefings.
8. Interfaces with other system engineering areas to include Configuration Management, Nuclear Surety, Technical Orders and test organizations to ensure software updates are properly executed.
We are seeking an engineer to join the ISC Weapon System Software team. This position helps provide continuity and expert advice on weapon system software updates being made in the MMIII weapon system. This position also supports the design, development and review of software for the USAF ICBM Program. This position will assist in the acquisition of new and upgrade programs and technical sustainment engineering. This contract will augment organic resources by providing breadth and depth of capabilities for system engineering and integration, risk management, technical assessment, acquisition program management, strategy development, organization and change management, interface with operations and logistics, business analysis, mission effectiveness and ICBM demonstration/validation integrated applications programs.
