About the Role
Indotronix is seeking a motivated Software Engineer I to join our dynamic team onsite in San Diego, CA. This 6-month contract position offers hands-on experience in developing mission-critical software, strong mentorship from experienced engineers, and a collaborative environment designed for learning and professional growth. You'll work on impactful projects, participate in Agile and DevSecOps practices, and gain exposure to cutting-edge CI/CD workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance software features with guidance from senior engineers
- Assist in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software issues
- Contribute to automated testing and CI/CD build/integration processes
- Support software design tasks, including interface definition and documentation
- Participate in daily Agile team activities, sprint reviews, and planning sessions
- Apply secure coding practices and support DevSecOps-aligned workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (systems, hardware, test)
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for audits, reviews, and configuration management
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related STEM field
- 2-5 years' experience in software engineering
- Foundational knowledge of C, C++, Python, or Java
- Understanding of software development fundamentals, debugging, and version control
- Familiarity with Linux environments or basic command-line operations
- Exposure to Agile methodologies through coursework, internships, or projects
Preferred Skills
- Project experience with embedded systems, networking, or real-time software
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- Exposure to DevSecOps concepts and secure coding practices
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks
- Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Strong communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary environments
