The Senior Software Engineer serves as a core member of the Oceaneering Technologies (OTECH) group. Senior engineers are expected to learn OTECH processes and best engineering practices; and apply the knowledge towards expanding their software engineering skill set. This role is expected to take ownership of a PLC/C++ based hardware/software system.

OTECH produces and maintains unique underwater and surface systems - typically for US Navy and other US Government Department of Defense customers. Our projects are all one-of-a-kind. Projects range from quick burn to lifecycle management of fielded systems. The ideal candidate for this position possesses several years of experience in software development and has demonstrated ownership of a software product. They also work effectively and collaboratively in a team-based environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • BS Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline. Commensurate experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years of software lifecycle engineering experience with C++ and PLC's.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Allen Bradley PLC''s.
  • Prior experience working within a hardware system that contains sensors such as cameras and laser line scanners.
  • Solid written and oral communications skills, including ability to effectively document, convey, and present engineering concepts and products to team members and customers.

Compensation $94,100.00 - $141,100.00
