Job Description


We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join our team on-site in Redmond, WA. The role will influence documentation, processes, tooling integration, and customer relationships. Work will range from tool evaluation and integration to daily hands-on lab and infrastructure support. The engineer will leverage AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code, in personal workflows and drive adoption across the team. The role will coordinate internal resources, serve as a point of contact for assigned projects, and partner with leadership to provide guidance and ensure task ownership across team members.


Responsibilities:



* Evaluate, integrate, and support engineering tools and platforms, including AI-assisted development tools.

* Provide day-to-day hands-on lab and infrastructure support across Windows and Linux environments.

* Serve as point of contact for assigned projects and coordinate internal resources and schedules.

* Document processes, configurations, and runbooks and contribute to scalable operational practices.

* Leverage LLMs and AI/ML tools to improve engineering workflows and promote adoption across the team.

* Plan and design customer solutions and communicate technical information to non-experts.

* Run projects from initiation to completion and report progress to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:



* Strong technical background in software engineering or a related field.

* Proficiency in Python. Experience with C++, Java, or Ruby is a plus.

* Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code or similar).

* Experience with LLMs, AI/ML tools, and integration patterns.

* Experience with Linux distributions such as CentOS, Fedora, or Ubuntu and with Windows OS.

* Basic network troubleshooting skills.

* Strong oral and written communication skills, including communicating technical information to non-experts.

* Experience planning and designing customer solutions and running projects end-to-end.

* Proactive work ethic with ability to learn and adapt to new environments.

* Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.

* Ability to regularly lift 30 lbs and perform repetitive manual tasks.

* Ability to occasionally reach overhead and use a step stool for cable trays and racks.

* Ability to provide own vehicle transportation for travel between support sites.

* Experience level: 3-4 years.

Preferred Skills:



* 4+ years as a Systems Administrator (Windows and/or Linux).

* 2+ years of networking experience and troubleshooting; knowledge of switch CLI and commands.

* Proficiency with Claude Code, including skills, hooks, MCP servers, and multi-agent workflows.

* Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

* Experience building MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers or custom tool integrations.

* Experience installing and configuring Kubernetes, Docker, OpenCue, or Slurm.
