What You’ll Do
As a Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing enterprise-scale advertising technology that powers premium brand experiences across Wayfair’s platform. You will:
Collaborate across teams to integrate new advertising formats, working closely with platform engineering, data science, and product management teams.
Drive innovation by introducing best practices, fostering a strong engineering culture, and leading experimentation efforts for new ad products.
Ensure high performance and reliability in ad delivery through efficient system design, data-driven optimizations, and industry-leading standards.
What We’re Looking For
We seek a passionate, innovative engineer who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is eager to shape a high-impact product. The ideal candidate will have:
Strong backend development skills, with expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and performance optimization.
Experience building modern, scalable frontend applications using technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, and related frontend ecosystems.
A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to break down complex problems into scalable solution and to convert the product requirements into a technical solution.
We Are a Match Because You Have
2+ years of experience in backend software engineering using object oriented language and preferably Java
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience working with relational and non-relational databases
Experience working with event-driven architectures, DDD, and TDD
Mastery of some flavor of modern frontend frameworks and technologies like React, Next.js, Redux and related technologies.
Experience in Big Data technologies like Apache Kafka/Apache spark/Nosql databases
Preferred experience in the CI/CD tools/platforms like Buildkite/Docker/Kubernetes.
Experience with Cloud Native architecture platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
Passion for exploring and applying AI technologies to improve developer efficiency, product outcomes, and business results, with a strong willingness to experiment, learn, and drive meaningful impact through AI-enabled solutions.
Experience in system monitoring using tools like DataDog etc.
