What You’ll Do

As a Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing enterprise-scale advertising technology that powers premium brand experiences across Wayfair’s platform. You will:

  • Collaborate across teams to integrate new advertising formats, working closely with platform engineering, data science, and product management teams.

  • Drive innovation by introducing best practices, fostering a strong engineering culture, and leading experimentation efforts for new ad products.

  • Ensure high performance and reliability in ad delivery through efficient system design, data-driven optimizations, and industry-leading standards.

What We’re Looking For

We seek a passionate, innovative engineer who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is eager to shape a high-impact product. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong backend development skills, with expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and performance optimization.

  • Experience building modern, scalable frontend applications using technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, and related frontend ecosystems.

  • A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to break down complex problems into scalable solution and to convert the product requirements into a technical solution.

We Are a Match Because You Have

  • 2+ years of experience in backend software engineering using object oriented language and preferably Java

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases

  • Experience working with event-driven architectures, DDD, and TDD

  • Mastery of some flavor of modern frontend frameworks and technologies like React, Next.js, Redux and related technologies.

  • Experience in Big Data technologies like Apache Kafka/Apache spark/Nosql databases

  • Preferred experience in the CI/CD tools/platforms like Buildkite/Docker/Kubernetes.

  • Experience with  Cloud Native architecture platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.

  • Passion for exploring and applying AI technologies to improve developer efficiency, product outcomes, and business results, with a strong willingness to experiment, learn, and drive meaningful impact through AI-enabled solutions.

  • Experience in system monitoring using tools like DataDog etc.
