Overview

Seeking a Software Engineer III to support the development and maintenance of scalable DevOps solutions, CI/CD pipelines, and automation capabilities supporting a large enterprise mission environment. This role is responsible for implementing reliable software delivery processes, enhancing system performance, and developing automation solutions that improve operational efficiency across a complex networked infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have experience with modern DevOps practices, software development, infrastructure automation, and enterprise-scale deployment environments.


Responsibilities

  • Design, build, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab and Jenkins.
  • Develop and maintain software applications and automation solutions using Python, Java, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions to support enterprise-scale environments.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, pipeline documentation, configuration guides, and operational procedures.
  • Develop automation scripts and services to improve deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to build systems, CI/CD pipelines, software deployments, and cloud-based environments.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, and infrastructure teams to improve reliability, scalability, and deployment efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain, and present KPIs, operational metrics, and performance reports.
  • Support software deployments and critical operational activities, including occasional evening or weekend work when required.
  • Participate in Agile development activities and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, automation, or related technical disciplines.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Valid U.S. Passport and ability to travel as required.
  • DoD 8140 compliant certification (Security+, SSCP, CISSP, GSEC, CISA, or equivalent).
  • Experience developing software using Python and Java.
  • Experience creating automation and scripting solutions using Bash and/or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs.
  • Experience with Git-based source control systems such as GitLab.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or supporting CI/CD pipelines utilizing DevOps best practices.
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and Agile development practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting software, infrastructure, or pipeline-related issues.
  • Strong communication skills with experience producing technical documentation and presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within collaborative engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret Clearance.
  • Certification Required: DoD 8140 Compliant Certification (Security+, CISSP, SSCP, GSEC, etc.)
  • Experience supporting large-scale defense, command-and-control, or mission-critical systems.
  • Experience developing operational metrics, KPIs, and reporting dashboards.
  • Front-end development experience using JavaScript, React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with cybersecurity practices including vulnerability management, monitoring, and remediation.
  • Experience with automation and IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and VMware Aria.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and network device configuration.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
