Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

As a part of the GWS (Google Web Server) team, you will work on the binary that serves the Google Search results page to users and acts as the gateway to many of Search's most critical AI features.In this role, you will ensure that Google Search continues to serve users reliably even as we transform GWS to better handle the unique requirements and expectations of AI-powered features.As a member of the GWS Infra team, your focus will be on ensuring new versions of GWS are launched with significantly faster velocity without compromising reliability. To do that, we need to solve engineering issues and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
