Our client needs a Software Engineer III to join a team supporting high-visibility, customer-facing financial applications. This role is a blend of C#/.NET development, application support, application modernization, and deployment automation. The engineer will work with existing applications, help modernize legacy technologies, and contribute to the organization's transition toward standardized CI/CD deployments using Harness and Deployer. The environment is currently deployed to OpenShift, with a strong focus on reliable, secure applications and authentication. The ideal candidate will have strong C#/.NET and SQL experience and be comfortable working in a large, regulated enterprise environment. Experience in banking, financial services, insurance, payments, or another highly regulated industry is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot applications using C#/.NET.
Work with SQL databases and backend systems.
Provide application support and resolve technical issues in production and non-production environments.
Participate in application modernization initiatives.
Help upgrade legacy applications from .NET Framework 4.5/4.8 to newer .NET versions.
Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
Support the organization's transition to Harness and Deployer for application deployments.
Work with applications currently deployed in an OpenShift environment.
Contribute to authentication and application security initiatives.
Collaborate with developers, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
Potentially contribute to front-end modernization efforts, including React, as application needs evolve.
Support applications where reliability, security, availability, and customer impact are critical.
Required Skills:
Five (5) years of experience
Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET development.
Experience with SQL and relational database backends.
Experience with application support, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Experience working with existing applications and implementing enhancements or updates.
Ability to work with legacy applications while contributing to modernization efforts.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate effectively with a development team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
Harness experience.
Experience with MuleSoft or MuleSoft integrations.
Experience upgrading .NET Framework 4.5/4.8 applications to newer .NET technologies.
OpenShift experience.
Experience with authentication/security within applications.
Banking or financial services experience is highly preferred. Large insurance or other regulated enterprise experience is also valuable.
Experience with payments, Remote Deposit, Zelle, Real-Time Payments (RTP), or transaction-processing systems is a strong plus. Candidates should be comfortable supporting high-visibility applications where security, reliability, and customer impact are critical.
