JOB PURPOSE
As a Senior Software Engineer on our Mobile App team, you will act as a core hands-on engineer focused on building, scaling, and maintaining our next-generation React Native mobile platform. You will drive technical execution by authoring clean, high-performance code, establishing robust mobile architecture, and taking end-to-end ownership of complex app features. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners and interface closely with our offshore engineering team in India—requiring occasional early morning syncs—to review technical output, enforce engineering standards, and streamline delivery. While primary focus is direct code delivery, you will leverage your deep expertise in React Native to solve complex technical challenges, elevate the platform's reliability and scalable architecture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct Hands-On Development & Performance: Author high-quality React Native code, resolve critical bugs, and continually optimize application speed, stability, and security across mobile platforms.
- Architecture & End-to-End Ownership: Take full ownership of key feature modules from technical design through deployment and maintenance, ensuring robust integration with backend APIs and platforms.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Work directly with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend systems engineers to translate complex business and commerce requirements into performant technical solutions.
- Quality & Technical Alignment: Conduct thorough code reviews and partner with offshore developers to maintain architectural integrity, establish CI/CD automation, and enforce consistent code quality.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, diagnosing production bugs and performance bottlenecks systematically.
- Technical Mentorship: Share domain expertise, promote modern mobile development practices, and guide mid-level engineers to foster a high-performing engineering culture.
KEY SKILLS
- Deep expertise in modern React Native mobile app development and cross-platform architecture.
- Proficiency in integrating e-commerce platforms, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, and external enterprise systems.
- Resourceful technical problem-solver capable of analyzing root causes and fixing complex bugs efficiently.
- Advanced collaboration and communication skills to partner smoothly with product, design, backend teams, and vendor/offshore engineering partners.
- Strong grasp of modern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Git version control workflows.
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate coding, unit test generation, and technical documentation.
- Agile practitioner who thrives in fast-paced sprint cycles with full feature ownership.
- The ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse team and provide clear, constructive guidance to junior developers, elevating the skills and performance of the entire team.
- Proficient in leveraging AI tools (such as GitHub Copilot) to accelerate code generation, automate unit testing, and streamline technical documentation without compromising security or architectural integrity.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, with a primary focus on mobile applications.
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise in React Native cross-platform mobile development.
- Proven track record building and supporting high-performance, scalable e-commerce mobile architectures.
- Strong proficiency with Git workflows, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD mobile deployment pipelines.
- Full-time, on-site role requiring 5 days per week in the Plano, TX office.
