AEITS, a GTSC company, seeks a Software Engineer Level 3.~~~ This position pending contract award ~~~Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland area~~~~ All work is on-site, in-person in a SCIF environment. This is not a hybrid or remote position.Clearance: Top Secret SCI with appropriate polygraph.Compensation: $158-170,000 annual salary.Mission Description:Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain complex software solutions supporting mission-critical systems, large-scale data processing, advanced analytics, and enterprise applications.Analyze user and system requirements to develop software design solutions.Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues.Integrate software into new and existing systems and operating environments.Develop and optimize database interfaces, queries, and data repositories.Create and maintain technical documentation and design artifacts.Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, development, testing, and deployment.Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver mission-focused solutions.Support software quality assurance, configuration management, and release activities.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.Additional ResponsibilitiesLead software design and architecture efforts.Mentor and guide junior engineers.Oversee technical execution across development teams.Drive software quality, performance optimization, and process improvements.Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and engineering approaches.Serve as a technical lead for large-scale software development initiatives.Required Qualifications:20+ years of software engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.Demonstrated experience serving as a technical lead across multiple teams and large-scale software initiatives.Preferred Technical SkillsExperience with one or more of the following technologies:Level 3 at least 10 years of experience:Java, Python, JavaScriptHTML5, CSS3Git, Maven, Nexus, JenkinsDocker, Kubernetes, OpenShiftCI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesSpring Framework, Hibernate, Web ServicesMySQL and relational databasesBash and Shell scriptingSonarQube and automated testing toolsGrafana, Kibana, Nagios, or similar monitoring toolsMicroservices architecture and container orchestrationAgile software development methodologiesBENEFITS - Full-time Employees401K with employer contribution.
