Basic Function
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
-Plan and execute software development engineering tasks, including project<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
management, software design, software/hardware integration, and internal / external<\/span>

Job Responsibilities:<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- Execute assigned tasks to deliver software for new product designs on schedule and<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
within budget<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- Execute assigned tasks to deliver software for modified product designs to meet customer<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
specific requirements on schedule and within budget<\/span>

- Perform testing of software design to confirm compliance to internal / external customer<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
specifications<\/span>

- Resolve software design and performance issues with internal / external customers as<\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- Meet the technology and marketing requirements for the assigned tasks<\/span>

- Participate in software design reviews for all assigned projects<\/span>

- Provide input for and coauthor technical documentation in support of the sales and<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
marketing plan<\/span>

- Participate in the selection of development projects and new technology evaluations<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
including selection of circuit board components associated with the chip -set and<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
programming hardware<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- Comply with all applicable standards, including internal design engineering standards<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- Provide product functionality or troubleshooting support via phone, email, or in -person<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
on an as needed basis.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- Participate in internal system testing as required to evaluate the performance of delivered<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
software<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- Travel as required to customer locations to troubleshoot, commission, or support Spang’s<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
product firmware and integration thereof.<\/span>

Supervisory Responsibilities:<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- Technical direction as required for integration/support tasks.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- Advisory and training role as required for testing and field service technicians.<\/span><\/span>

Education/Training

-Required Degree: Bachelor of Science<\/span>

Course study in power electronics and imbedded programming helpful<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>

Experience<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- 5 to 10 years software development experience with C language, C++ language,<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
Assembly, SQL/Database programming, HTML and XML basics, DSP (TI), and TCP/IP<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
technical knowledge. <\/span><\/span>
<\/div>
- Electronics and electrical wiring standards knowledge.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- Understanding of power electronics and operational there of; SCRs, IGBTs, transformers,<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
AC/DC power topologies, etc. PLC programming (Siemens/Rockwell), HMI<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
programming (Siemens/Rockwell), Industrial networking (EIP/Profinet/Modbus TCP) is<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
a plus.<\/span>
