Job Title Software EngineerJob DescriptionThe Full-Stack Engineer supports the overall maintenance and improvement of the Metis website and many of the Metis apps platforms and systems used to operate the business. The role has a front-end focus with an emphasis on Ruby on Rails.The engineer will focus primarily on the design and maintenance of landing pages central to upcoming Metis product launches. The new pages will have high visibility and will be critical to exciting additions to Metiss product line. The engineer will also have other opportunities to contribute to the growing Metis codebase while integrating directly with external APIs.In this Role the consultant willMaintain Metiss website with regular on-call design request changesWork on issues from the Engineering backlog in GitHubCreate ad hoc fully tested featuresBuild scripts to automate tasks as requiredCollaborate with Marketing and designers to create landing pages on a regular basisMaintain and expand the CMSProvide technical support for all departments of the organizationMaintain numerous databasesConsultant must haveStrong foundation in Ruby on Rails and JavaScriptFluent in CSS Sass JQueryFluent in Git and GitHubExperience with Responsive Web Design patternsFamiliar with front-end frameworks e.g. FoundationExtensive experience deploying with HerokuStrong experience with deploying to productionExperience with PostgresVery strong knowledge of HTTP caching page rendering mobile optimization etcFamiliar with APIs CMSStrong understanding of debuggingAble to work independently and without support of full engineering team or engineering managerExperience with unitfeature testingBSMS in a relevant field Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experienceMinimum 4 years of Software Development ExperienceSkills Nice to HaveProficient in ReactFamiliarity with Salesforce
