Software Engineer

The Compliance Technology Team at Coinbase is at the forefront of designing and building complex systems that ensure regulatory compliance globally, including BSA/AML controls. We are looking for a Software Engineer who is excited about building scalable services and user-facing applications to power the future of compliance infrastructure using modern technologies like Golang, React, AWS, and Python.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build new backend services in Golang to support product and business needs.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure systems using cloud-native technologies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, design, and leadership to shape the product roadmap.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Debug complex technical problems and optimize systems for performance, reliability, and ease of maintenance.
  • Review architectural designs and ensure security, scalability, and clarity across the stack.
  • Integrate with third-party vendors through robust data pipelines.
  • Build performant, user-friendly web apps using React and TypeScript.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years building web applications and user-facing features.
  • Hands-on experience with technologies such as Golang, Python, React, TypeScript, Docker, AWS, Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Airflow.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining production systems in a service-oriented architecture.
  • Proven ability to develop clean, reusable front-end components and deliver high-quality UI experiences.
  • Solid understanding of system design principles, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.
  • Familiarity with the full product lifecycle and agile collaboration with designers and PMs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong sense of ownership.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience in Risk and Compliance domains.
  • Background in cryptocurrency or blockchain technologies.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
