    Role Summary

A large enterprise organization supporting highly secure federal environments is seeking a Software Engineer (Level 3) to join a cybersecurity-focused engineering team. This role is centered on designing, developing, integrating, and sustaining privileged access management (PAM) and secrets management solutions within complex Linux-based infrastructures.

The engineer will work extensively with automation, APIs, identity and access management systems, and enterprise security tools to support secure credential handling and system access controls across large-scale environments.

This position requires strong hands-on Linux expertise, programming experience (Python/Java), and familiarity with security automation and orchestration tools. The role operates in a highly regulated environment with strict security, documentation, and compliance expectations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions supporting privileged access management (PAM) and secrets management platforms (e.g., Delinea or similar tools)
    • Integrate IAM/PAM solutions into enterprise systems using APIs and secure authentication mechanisms
    • Develop automation scripts and services using Python and/or Java
    • Administer and support Linux environments (RHEL, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, CentOS) across large-scale infrastructure
    • Build and maintain automation workflows using tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, or equivalent
    • Support CI/CD pipeline integration for secure application deployment and infrastructure automation
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed Linux environments and security platforms
    • Work with containerized environments using Docker and/or Podman
    • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams to implement secure design patterns
    • Ensure systems comply with security policies, access controls, and audit requirements
    • Participate in system hardening, performance tuning, and vulnerability remediation activities
    • Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and integration workflows
    • Support continuous improvement of identity, access, and secrets management capabilities

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • 5+ years of software engineering or systems engineering experience
    • Strong Linux administration experience across enterprise distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, CentOS)
    • Proficiency in Python and/or Java development
    • Experience working with IAM/PAM solutions and privileged access workflows
    • Hands-on experience with API development and system integration
    • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, or similar
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
    • Experience working with container technologies (Docker, Podman, or equivalent)
    • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in complex distributed systems
    • Experience working in secure or regulated environments with sensitive data
    • Strong documentation and communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience with Delinea (or similar PAM/secrets management platforms)
    • Background in cybersecurity, identity management, or enterprise security engineering
    • Experience with large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments
    • Familiarity with security standards, compliance frameworks, and audit requirements
    • Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments

    Compensation & Work Model

    • Full-time, direct-hire opportunity
    • Hybrid work arrangement (onsite requirements depend on program/site needs)
    • Requires active Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) clearance
    • U.S. citizenship required due to clearance requirements
