    We are looking for Software Engineers to join our Software Engineering team in El Segundo, California, a suburb of Los Angeles.  

    The Raytheon Software Engineering organization is seeking enthusiastic and highly capable software engineering interns in programs developing real time embedded software in the Gen 4 Tactical Airborne Radar area.  The ideal candidate will employ Raytheon software development processes.

    What You Will Do

    • Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts.  Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts.

    • Analyze technical problems and provide innovative solutions

    • Work effectively and contribute during various phases of the software development life-cycle

    • Participate in development efforts of real-time embedded software

    • Drive towards meeting technical goals

    • Communicate effectively with team members and leaders across multiple disciplines and functional areas

    Qualifications You Must Have

    • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session. 

    • Developing software utilizing C/C++, Python, Ada or related tools/languages 

    • Knowledge of real time embedded software development

    • Solid academic & technical background in computer science / software engineering

    • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.  Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    • U.S. Citizenship is required

    Qualifications We Prefer

    • Hardware / software integration experience

    • Knowledge and Experience with Radar Technology

    • Experience with developing and integrating software for Radar systems

    • Knowledge in the phases of the software development life-cycle

    • Knowledge of Software Development Processes

    • Experience with Agile and Continuous Integration methodologies

    • Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

    • This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.     The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
