We attract, develop, and retain a high-performance workforce, comprised of people with diverse backgrounds and a shared drive for excellence. We strive to foster a positive and inclusive work environment that helps employees, and communities, thrive.

Our Purpose

Teradyne's Compute Test Division is transforming how engineers design, build, and ship ATE products: moving to an AI-native workflow spanning the full product development lifecycle. This is a platform that combines persistent system knowledge with agentic capabilities, enabling effective collaboration with AI, while maintaining a human in the loop.

Opportunity Overview

We're looking for a Software Engineering Manager to spearhead the team building this platform. You'll own the roadmap for the platform's services — the knowledge system, the agent/skill library, and the AI Ops function that productizes, monitors and maintains AI capabilities across the team — while building and growing the engineering team responsible for delivering it. You'll work at the intersection of platform engineering, applied AI infrastructure, and developer experience, partnering closely with teams across CTD engineering to turn a vision into working, adopted capability.

+ Collaborate with engineering teams to design, refine and prioritize delivery of AI platform capabilities aligned with their needs

+ Help drive effective AI adoption across the organization

+ Own or partner closely on the AI Ops function including developing AI arfifact evaluation infrastructure, AI health and adoption metrics and dashboards

+ Manage the lifecycle of AI artifacts (skills, instructions, agents, MCP-style integrations) as organizational assets — creation, maintenance, quality tracking, and degradation/improvement measurement, including model evaluation and selection as the landscape evolves.

+ Hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of platform/AI engineers.

+ Drive development, deployment and support of our AI platform roadmap across engineering

+ Stay ahead of the rapidly evolving AI/agentic landscape and continuously evaluate what should be adopted into the platform.

+ Help evolve measurement of platform impact on engineering metrics and product outcomes.

All About You

We seek individuals who share our passion and motivation. Minimum criteria for the position:

+ 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of direct management, project, and technical leadership experience.

+ Demonstrated experience building or operating AI/ML and DevOps platform infrastructure: knowledge/retrieval systems (RAG, vector search), agent orchestration, LLM tool-use/MCP-style integration patterns, or developer-platform tooling.

+ Track record of taking a platform from pilot/proof-of-concept to scaled, adopted production use across multiple teams.

+ Strong technical judgment on build-vs-buy and cloud AI infrastructure

+ Proven ability to inspire, mentor, and develop engineers

+ Strong cross-functional collaboration skills: able to work with architects, product development teams, and governance stakeholders to drive alignment.

+ Excellent communication skills — able to translate platform architecture and AI capability trade-offs for both engineers and executive stakeholders.

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field required
