Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience in android development.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role and 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
  • Experience with coding in Java, Kotlin or other object oriented programming languages.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience with android OS development.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the architectural design and implementation of Gemini-backed features, ensuring high performance and low latency within the vehicle’s resource-constrained environment.
  • Drive the development of next-generation reference applications and tools that enable first and third-party developers. 
  • Partner with product, UX, and car manufacturers to align the applications layer with deep vehicle integration and talent development, recruit, mentor, and retain a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of rapid experimentation, technical excellence, and "AI-first" thinking.
  • Implement agile methodologies tailored for the automotive lifecycle, balancing the changing nature of Gen AI development with the safety and stability requirements of an OS.
  • Serve as a technical spokesperson for the AAOS App ecosystem, advocating for the adoption of AI first approach across internal stakeholders and external partners.
