Step into a long-standing, innovation-driven manufacturing environment in the heart of Napa Valley where precision scribing for the semiconductor industry is built and supported by a highly experienced team. In this Software Integration Engineer opportunity, you’ll help modernize machine software by rebuilding the application around updated motion control, vision, and I/O systems while preserving the operator experience. The role is based in St. Helena, CA, approximately 90 minutes north of the Bay Area.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Software Integration Engineer position include:
- 4-8 years of relevant software development and integration experience.
- Experience developing graphical user interfaces and integrating software with physical machinery, robotics, or automation equipment.
- Motion control integration experience, including digital and analog inputs/outputs, hardware communication, and background processes.
- Ability to learn an existing codebase and understand machine movements, wafer rotation, reference points, and four motor axes.
- Learn and document the existing software from the graphical user interface through background processes, hardware communication, and machine operation.
- Rebuild the graphical user interface around updated motion control, vision, and digital and analog I/O while preserving familiar operator workflows.
- Integrate commercially available hardware interfaces for motion control, imaging, and I/O, including the existing Matrox/Zebra Imaging Library (MIL10).
- Collaborate with the Electro-Mechanical Controls Engineer on hardware interfaces, troubleshooting, machine testing, and ongoing validation, maintenance, and support after release.
Salary: $135,000 - $165,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Medical, dental and vision; 100% of medical premiums paid; 401k with 4% match; two weeks of PTO; one week of sick leave; paid closure between Christmas and New Year's; profit sharing with a July-June fiscal year.
