Position Overview
The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Analyst 3 (SQAA3) to design, develop, maintain, and execute automated testing frameworks and test suites.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in software quality assurance, test automation, Selenium, Java 17, JMeter, API testing, CI/CD, and Agile/Scrum environments. This role will combine traditional QA practices with modern AI/ML testing strategies, including the use of AI-assisted tools to improve test coverage, automate test flows, identify defects, and enhance overall software quality.
The candidate will be responsible for developing automated tests across multiple testing levels, including unit, functional, integration, UAT, regression, and production deployment validation testing.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of software automation testing and quality assurance experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on test automation experience.
- 4+ years of experience with:

- 3+ years of experience creating automated tests and regression test suites using tools such as:

- Ability to evaluate and incorporate intelligent testing approaches into existing QA frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain QA testing standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and regression suites.
- Develop automated tests from requirements, acceptance criteria, and defined business objectives.
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data.
- Maintain the Test Case Repository and ensure test cases remain current.
- Participate in collaborative sessions to define test plans, scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
- Use AI-driven testing tools to improve test coverage, defect detection, and regression reliability.
- Plan and coordinate test environments required for automated testing.
- Analyze complex automated test assets and recommend improvements to test frameworks, databases, servers, and testing infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot automated test failures and recommend solutions.
- Develop user-friendly test reporting for QA, UAT, business stakeholders, and IT management.
- Identify, document, and track software defects.
- Perform root-cause analysis and work with development teams to resolve defects.
- Coordinate system verification and validation testing using appropriate automation and testing tools.
- Partner with QA engineers, developers, architects, and business stakeholders to establish QA standards and best practices.
- Ensure applications, products, and releases comply with established quality assurance standards.
- Support automated testing throughout the complete software development lifecycle.
Agile / Scrum Environment
This project follows the Scrum (Agile) development methodology. The candidate must have demonstrated experience managing and executing automated testing within an Agile development environment.
The candidate will work closely with developers, QA professionals, architects, business analysts, Product Owners, and other stakeholders throughout the development and testing lifecycle.
