Capitol Services is currently seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer with experience in AI-powered testing tools to join our growing team! You must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and reside in Austin, TX. C2C will not be considered for this position.

About the role: You will be working in our Austin, TX location responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and secure software by combining automation-first testing, AI-assisted analysis, and modern quality engineering practices. This role designs, executes, and optimizes test strategies across the full development lifecycle, leveraging automation frameworks, observability tooling, and DevOps workflows to accelerate release cycles and improve product performance.

This role is a permanent, direct hire that involves working full-time, Monday through Friday.

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, mobile, and backend systems using modern frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium)
  • Use AI-assisted testing tools to generate test cases, analyze defects, enhance exploratory testing, and identify risk areas
  • Validate AI/ML-driven features including data quality, model drift, bias, and output reliability
  • Implement and monitor CI/CD quality gates including automated regression, static analysis, security scanning, and performance checks
  • Perform API-first and contract testing for microservices and distributed systems
  • Conduct performance, load, and chaos testing to validate system resilience and scalability
  • Use observability platforms (logs, metrics, traces) to diagnose issues and validate system behavior
  • Develop, modify, and execute comprehensive test plans and test strategies
  • Oversee software acceptance testing and coordinate with cross-functional teams
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Document and maintain software functionality, requirements, and specifications
  • Tailor and deploy testing tools, automation frameworks, and quality metrics
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for internal and external software, including training delivery in partnership with Learning & Development
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, security standards, and industry best practices
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Who you are:

  • Requirements: You are eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and reside in Austin, TX. C2C will not be considered.
  • Experience: You have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience. You have 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, test automation, and continuous testing. You have 3+ years of experience managing quality assurance processes and leading quality assurance initiatives.
  • Technical Skills: You are proficiency with modern automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, REST Assured). You have experience with AI-driven QA platforms to test software in Software Development Life Cycle (e.g., Testim, Mabl, Katalon AI, GitHub Copilot for test generation). You are familiar with C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XML, JSON, and modern development practices. You have knowledge of SQL, data validation, and data pipeline testing.
  • Preferred: You have a strong understanding of CI/ pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI). You have experience testing n-tier web applications, APIs, and cloud-based systems. You have experience with test-driven development, shift-left testing, and DevOps collaboration. You are able to evaluate and validate AI-generated output for accuracy and reliability.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills: You have the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects / assignments. You have exceptional attention to detail and exhibit a reasonable sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills: You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You communicate in both a professional and friendly manner with coworkers and stakeholders.
  • Adaptable: You are eager to use new tools, automation frameworks, and AI technologies. You can adapt to changing priorities while working in a fast-paced, iterative environment. You have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address any challenges that may arise.

  • Reliable: You are able to work during our regular business hours in our Austin office. You are a punctual individual and able to follow an assigned work schedule. You are able to maintain client confidentiality at all times.
  • Office environment: You are able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. You are able to work a hybrid schedule; this position is not eligible for 100% remote work.
