Software Quality Engineer - E2

Standard Job Description

Develops, modifies and applies quality principles to the development and use of software and software-based systems for make and/or buy software products. Performs verification and validation of test equipment including hardware in the loop systems. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Designs and implements software development and maintenance processes. Defines audit strategy to ensure compliance to systems/software processes. Designs, specifies and conducts test methods for software inspection, verification and validation. Evaluates and analyzes software quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Performs software product reviews against contractual, technical and/or process requirements. Reviews include requirement specifications, design documents, source code, test plans and procedures, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.

Basic Qualifications

• STEM degree at the bachelor level or above preferably in one of the following disciplines: Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) utilizing standard software methodologies (e.g., SAFe Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
• Process & Product Evaluation - Conduct assessments to verify compliance, effectiveness, and continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Software Quality, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering experience in Requirements Analysis, Design/Development, Product Integration and Test.
• Experience to interpret, review, or develop code utilizing programming and scripting languages (such as C, C++, Python, or Bash) to verify the implementation of software requirements.
• Proficiency with collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence) or similar, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• US Citizenship with active Secret Clearance Required.
• Ability to travel at least 25% of the time.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
