Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience gathering and analyzing business and technical requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce, SQL, Java, and Web Services development.
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, including pipeline-as-code, branching strategies, automated code reviews, and testing aligned with organizational goals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong experience with Oracle SQL development, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience with DevOps practices, including automated builds, regression/smoke testing, and multi-environment deployments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and provide technical leadership to development teams.
• Experience supporting enterprise-level Salesforce implementations.
• Salesforce Architect Certification (highly preferred).

Position Overview

The Software Solutions Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade Salesforce solutions while ensuring architectural integrity, platform optimization, and alignment with the client's strategic and operational goals. This role will support the modernization of legacy systems to a Salesforce-based platform, with a focus on Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Field Service Lightning (FSL).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture and technical design of Salesforce solutions supporting case management, field service operations, and user engagement.
• Conduct Salesforce org health assessments and provide recommendations based on Salesforce best practices.
• Participate in Design & Discovery sessions and promote Salesforce Well-Architected Framework standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, contractors, and state employees.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions.
• Lead Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives to validate technical feasibility and business value.
• Ensure Secure Application Development Lifecycle (SADLC) standards are followed throughout development and deployment.
• Define technical direction for agency applications.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and performance standards.

Primary Duties (80%)

• Lead the design, development, testing, documentation, and implementation of technical software solutions.
• Resolve complex system design and programming challenges.
• Develop software applications, server components, and services using approved technologies.
• Plan and coordinate system integrations across business units, external partners, state agencies, and hosting platforms.
• Perform impact analysis for legislative, business, and system changes.
• Review and approve technical presentations, application demonstrations, and design documentation.
• Ensure technical solutions comply with agency standards, policies, and architectural guidelines.

Leadership & Delivery (15%)

• Provide technical leadership to application development teams and external partners.
• Collaborate with Agile teams and product owners to refine SADLC processes, prioritize backlogs, and maintain release schedules.
• Ensure compliance with ECM standards across development, testing, UAT, security, and production environments.
• Make technical recommendations and architectural decisions for enhancements to the Bridges application.
• Resolve complex design and programming issues while maintaining high data security standards.
• Coordinate system and data integration efforts for the Bridges platform.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement (5%)

• Research and evaluate emerging technologies aligned with business objectives.
• Maintain expertise in modern software development techniques and Client technology standards.
• Recommend configuration management best practices.
• Identify and promote process improvements, development tools, and emerging technologies that enhance team productivity.
