Software Testing Specialist

Epitec is seeking to hire a Senior Python Automation Engineer – Embedded Media & USB to support a leading global U.S. automaker on next-generation in-vehicle infotainment systems.

Location: Waterloo, ON (Fully Onsite)
Duration: W2 Contract: Long-Term

We are looking for a highly skilled automation engineer with strong Python development experience and deep exposure to embedded systems, infotainment, and media/USB functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Python-based automation frameworks, utilities, and test suites

• Execute automated regression tests for pull requests, builds, and integration drops

• Analyze automation results and differentiate product vs. test failures

• Create Jira defects and support issue resolution through closure

• Expand automation coverage with new scripts and stability scenarios

• Build interoperability testing across media devices (phones, USB, audio formats, file systems)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment

• Develop and maintain regression test plans aligned to requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years in software quality engineering; 3+ years in Python automation

• Strong Python test automation (frameworks, CI integration, reusable libraries)

• Experience with embedded platforms (QNX, Android-based systems)

• ADB and command-line experience

• Hands-on infotainment Media & USB testing experience

• Knowledge of USB protocols, file systems (FAT32, exFAT), and device behavior

• Familiarity with audio formats (MP3, AAC, WAV, FLAC, M4A)

• Strong QA fundamentals (test planning, regression, risk-based testing)

• Experience with Jira or similar tools

Preferred:

• Media/USB infotainment system experience

• Experience debugging embedded logs/tools

• Exposure to Slash or similar Python frameworks
