About AHC
American Home Contractors (AHC) is a solar and roofing company and an Infinity Home Services company. Our Solar Division installs Tesla solar panels and other PV systems, offers purchase and lease options, pairs systems with battery storage when needed, and services Tesla systems and other existing systems across MD, VA, DC, PA, WV, DE, and NJ. We take our time hiring because we want people who stay.

About the job
This is a field job with travel across MD, VA, DC, PA, WV, DE, and NJ about 35% to 40% of the time. You own the electrical side of our solar installs and lead the apprentices on your jobs.

What you'll do
• Install and repair electrical systems for solar roofing
• Run conduit and wiring to NEC and local code
• Install breakers, inverters, Powerwalls, and other components
• Handle inspections and troubleshoot problems
• Lead and mentor apprentices and field techs
• Complete manufacturer and licensing training
• Take photos and notes in CompanyCam before you leave the job

What you need
• A journeyman electrician license. We verify every license with the state.
• One exception: you are enrolled now in an electrical apprenticeship and working toward your journeyman license, or you agree to enroll in the IEC Chesapeake 4-year apprenticeship at the next open session after you're hired (January classes, applications due December 1). Apprentices must hold a state apprentice license before doing hands-on electrical work.
• 3+ years in the electrical trade
• Working knowledge of NEC and local code
• Able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams and troubleshoot what you find
• Comfortable on roofs and in attics. You use fall protection every time.
• This role involves climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lb, and working outdoors, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Bring your own basic electrician's hand tools; we supply the rest
• Live within 85 miles of our Columbia, MD warehouse, or relocate before your start date
• Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets our insurance carrier's standards (MVR reviewed after offer)

Nice to have
• Tesla Powerwall or Tesla solar panel experience
• Solar PV, battery storage, and battery backup experience
• Experience supervising crews

Pay and benefits
• $30 to $38 per hour, based on experience. Hourly, non-exempt, with overtime pay for hours over 40 in a week.
