SolarWinds Implementation Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced SolarWinds Implementation Engineer to support a large scale deployment of SolarWinds Observability Self Hosted Advanced within a complex enterprise networking environment. The successful candidate will provide expertise across platform design, implementation, configuration, integration, testing, documentation, and knowledge transfer activities.

This role will support the implementation of a greenfield SolarWinds deployment consisting of production and non production environments supporting approximately 1,500 to 2,000 network nodes. The consultant will play a key role in establishing monitoring, configuration management, IP address management, user device tracking, high availability, and enterprise integrations.

• Support discovery, requirements gathering, and solution design activities.
• Assist with SolarWinds platform architecture and deployment planning.
• Install and configure SolarWinds Observability Self Hosted Advanced platform components.
• Configure and validate Network Performance Monitor (NPM).
• Configure and validate Network Configuration Manager (NCM).
• Configure and validate IP Address Manager (IPAM).
• Configure and validate User Device Tracker (UDT).
• Deploy and configure polling engines and supporting infrastructure.
• Perform network device discovery, onboarding, and monitoring configuration.
• Develop monitoring thresholds, alerts, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
• Configure role based access control and single sign on integrations.
• Implement and test high availability capabilities.
• Configure configuration backup and compliance monitoring using NCM.
• Support integration with ServiceNow for incident management workflows.
• Support event forwarding and integration with Dynatrace.
• Perform platform tuning and optimization activities.
• Execute system validation, user acceptance testing, and production readiness testing.
• Support production cutover activities.
• Develop technical documentation, operational runbooks, and implementation guides.
• Deliver knowledge transfer sessions to customer operations and engineering teams.

• Strong hands on experience implementing SolarWinds in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience with SolarWinds Observability Self Hosted or SolarWinds Orion based platforms.
• Expertise with NPM, NCM, IPAM, and UDT modules.
• Experience configuring SolarWinds alerting, dashboards, reporting, and monitoring policies.
• Experience deploying and supporting SolarWinds high availability environments.
• Strong understanding of SNMPv3 and enterprise network monitoring best practices.
• Experience with device discovery, onboarding, polling engine deployment, and platform tuning.
• Experience with role based access control and single sign on integration.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities.
• Ability to create technical documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Experience monitoring Cisco ACI environments.
• Experience monitoring Cisco SD WAN environments.
• Experience with F5 load balancing technologies.
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks platforms.
• Experience with Infoblox solutions.
• Experience integrating SolarWinds with ServiceNow.
• Experience integrating SolarWinds events with Dynatrace.
• Experience supporting large scale enterprise network monitoring deployments.
