Solderer

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform hand soldering for touch-up, rework, and repair of PCBAs

• Remove and replace surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components

• Repair solder defects including bridging, cold joints, insufficient solder, and lifted pads

• Follow work instructions, schematics, and engineering change orders (ECOs) for repairs

• Utilize soldering irons, hot air rework stations, microscopes, and other precision tools

• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with IPC standards and customer requirements

• Document repairs and maintain accurate records of rework performed

• Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to identify recurring defects and support root cause analysis

• Maintain ESD compliance and proper handling of sensitive electronic components

• Support continuous improvement and maintain a clean, organized workstation (5S)

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in PCB soldering, rework, or electronics repair

• Strong experience with SMT and through-hole soldering techniques

• Ability to work under a microscope for detailed repair work

• Ability to read and interpret schematics, BOMs, and work instructions

• High attention to detail and steady hand for precision work

• Understanding of common soldering defects and proper repair methods

Preferred Experience:

• IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-7711/7721 certification

• Experience with BGA rework or advanced component replacement

• Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments

• Familiarity with AOI inspection results and rework processes

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods performing detailed work

• Strong visual acuity and hand-eye coordination

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed
